Southwest Classic Links (Sampler)
Tour length: 5 days
Number of courses: 4 courses
Number of accommodations: 1
Day 0 Depart the U.S for your overnight flight to Ireland.
Day 1 Arrive Shannon early morning. Board your luxury motor vehicle and travel to Killarney. Check into your accommodation. Play Killarney’s Killeen Course. In a beautiful setting by the famous Lakes of Killarney, Killeen is the flagship course and hosted the Irish Open in 1991 and 1992. Spend the rest of the afternoon recovering from your flight and discussing your round over a few pints of Guinness.
Day 2 Travel to Ballybunion for your next round of golf on its famous Old Course. Ballybunion is one of the most famous links courses in the world. Fuelled by tributes from the likes of Tom Watson, Ballybunion is the most visited Irish golf course. The Old Course is a truly natural links course. The contours of both fairways and greens, combined with the sea breezes, provide the main challenge. Return to Killarney for your overnight.
Day 3 Travel to Tralee Golf Links for your next round of golf. Tralee is a special place both for its setting beside Barrow Strand and because it represents Arnold Palmer's first design project in Europe. Our favorite holes are the monster par-5 that doglegs around the beach and the dreaded 12th that is often rated the best hole on the course—it is certainly the hardest. Return to Killarney for your overnight.
Day 4 Play Waterville Links today. The dream of a wealthy Irish-American, John Mulcahy, was realized in 1973 when the present day Waterville golf links opened for play. In yet another spectacular Kerry setting, Waterville is a home to some fine links holes, many with stories to tell—such as the “Mass Hole” where Irish Catholics celebrated Mass during penal times and the first hole, named “Last Easy”! Overnight Killarney.
Day 5 Sadly your tour has come to end. After breakfast we will transfer to the Shannon Airport where there is time for duty-free shopping before boarding your return flight.
